Centreon is a network, system, applicative supervision and monitoring tool, it is based upon the most effective Open Source monitoring engine: Nagios. Centreon provides a new frontend and new functionalities to Nagios.

It allows you to be more efficient in your network monitoring, but also allows you to make your supervision information readable by a largest range of users. Indeed, a non technical user can now use the Centreon/Nagios couple to easily understand your network infrastructure ...

This is a piece of software that lets you tunnel IPv4 data through a DNS server. This can be usable in different situations where internet access is firewalled, but DNS queries are allowed.

It runs on Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD and needs a TUN/TAP device. The bandwidth is assymetrical with limited upstream and up to 1 Mbit/s downstream.

iftop does for network usage what top(1) does for CPU usage. It listens to network traffic on a named interface and displays a table of current bandwidth usage by pairs of hosts. Handy for answering the question "why is our ADSL link so slow?".

POCO C++ Libraries
[6 users on Ohloh]
The POCO C++ Libraries (POCO stands for POrtable COmponents) are open source C++ class libraries that simplify and accelerate the development of network-centric, portable applications in C++. The libraries integrate perfectly with the C++ Standard Library and fill many of the functional gaps left open by it. Their modular and efficient design and implementation makes the POCO C++ Libraries extremely well suited for embedded development, an area where the C++ programming language is becoming incr...

Tcpreplay is a suite of BSD licensed tools written by Aaron Turner for UNIX (and Win32 under Cygwin) operating systems which gives you the ability to use previously captured traffic in libpcap format to test a variety of network devices. It allows you to classify traffic as client or server, rewrite Layer 2, 3 and 4 headers and finally replay the traffic back onto the network and through other devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, NIDS and IPS's. Tcpreplay supports both single and dual N...

libNUI is a hardware accelerated GUI framework that makes it possible to build rich multi-platform applications based on 3D rendered dynamic layouts. Interfaces are built as a composition of widgets and behaviors, and the framework handles positioning, resizing, anchoring, and texture stretching. Objects are connected with synchronous events and delegates for mono-threaded communication, or asynchronous notifications and message queues are used for multi-threaded applications. It also supports s...

Networkify is designed to be a complete pluggable network(s) flow management framework based on Linux, it allows the network administrator to be able to manage the traffic control, traffic shaping, firewall management, interfaces configuration, network components identities, and etc. in a standard easy-to-use way. It's also pluggable so you can plug for example, your own billing system to that so you can charge your users for bandwidth or anything else. Also you can plug notification plug-ins so...

Packet Forge is a library designed to simplify the job of writing network-oriented tools. Contrary to other network libraries, Packet Forge has no knowledge of particular protocols. Instead, it provides a generic framework into which modules can register various services or functionality such as new protocols, new protocol families, dump formats, and so on. It provides several APIs to perform network-related tasks such as:

raw packet capture and injection from any layer reading and writin...

sckt introductionsckt is a simple lightweight cross platform C++ wrapper for sockets network API designed for games.

The goal is to have simple, small and clean cross platform C++ network library. For example, current implementation of the lib consists of only 2 files: sckt.hpp and sckt.cpp and I hope the number of source files will not grow drastically as the project progresses :-).

Platforms supportedlinux Windows (MinGW, MSVC) At the moment sckt can be compiled to shared lib (.d...
